I, like many NYC residents, maintain a very volatile relationship with this city. But with the recent temperate weather and the long weekend ahead, I can’t help but think that New York loves me.

Nearly one third of our existence as a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the landscapes of hospitals has been consumed by our wildest dream—working with contemporary art superstar Jeff Koons on a project that is the first of its kind.
Well, this week our wildest dream has been exceeded, and we’ve reached a major milestone not only for RxArt, but also for the medical and arts communities. Thanks to the generosity, commitment and sheer brilliance of Jeff Koons, his studio, and Kiehl’s, we’re pleased to announce the completion of our artist-designed CT Scanner and exam room at Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
On Tuesday, the entire RxArt team attended the official unveiling with Mr. Koons and an enthusiastic crowd of media, healthcare professionals, collectors and supporters. In a word, the experience was awe-inspiring. To give you a better understanding of the space itself, attendees were reluctant to leave the exam room tour, completely entranced by Koons’ playful imagery. Doctors even reported that they’ve decreased the anesthesia administered to young patients; children are no longer frightened of the procedure as a result of the transforming installation.
We invite you to take a moment to view our collection of photos to see for yourself the magic of this groundbreaking collaboration. And to those who have been and will continue to be an integral part of the success of each and every project, we express our sincere gratitude. Witnessing the positive effects of art is what makes us tick, and this momentous project couldn’t epitomize that any more.
